CASE STUDY : A CHRISTIAN MENS' FELLOWSHIP WEEKEND
Our informal base in Hathersage, Rock Lea is a great
place for fellowships groups, such as the lively members
of the mens' Christian Fellowship from St. John's,
Havering-atte-Bower in Essex pictured above. Led by
Rev. Roger Garnett ( he's the handsome one sporting the
white shorts and abseiling on the image on the right ! ),
everyone enjoyed a great time when they were here.
Roger's group is pictured above chilling-out with teas
& coffees on their return to Rock Lea's back yard after
an easy mountain-biking trip around local reservoirs with
some of our centre's instructors.

PROPER PRIOR PLANNING....
Iain, our manager and Roger met up well before their four-day
break & agreed a non-machismo programme of low-cost
outdoor activities and indoor sessions to support Roger's
group teaching & prayer sessions focussing on the theme of
"What is a real Christian man today ?" The group comprised
twenty men of mixed ages & fitnesses. Everyone had a
enjoyable & worthwhile time..and as often is the case.
The arrangements to eat in local pubs together at the end
of the day worked well - and the swimming pool next door
was much appreciated at the end of hot days out having fun
mountain biking, climbing, orienteering & abseiling.

Led- walks up onto Stanage Edge overlooking our
base were particularly popular with Roger's group.
This group from Roger's party is pictured on a walk
which starts right on our doorstep leading up to one
of the nearby Griststone Eges.

Eyam church. Roger's next follow up here was an
activity holiday at Easter for his church's parents
& children.
We booked the whole of a local youth hostel
for Roger's next week-long event and he was
