DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK...
Planning the route for a team about to set off on a Trailquest Competition.
Peak Activities Ltd's UNIQUE scenic cycling safaris & cycle-based
treasure hunts & inter-team trail quest competitions for groups
in Derbyshire are run all the year round for groups of all ages and
abilities as part of our range of corporate events and development
training. These are exclusive group events - we regret we are not
a public bike hire facility and so we do not hire out bikes to individuals,
unless they are pre-booked onto one of our open courses. Please don't
ask us for bike hire if you're not part of a group booking or an open event.

A company-sponsored group about to leave Rock Lea on one of our trail quest sessions.
Our trailquests and treasure hunts are ideal fun activities for jolly
groups of complete softies. Trailquests are a perfect way to enjoy
for mixed ability and mixed fitness parties to work together in teams
and enjoy the lovely scenery of the Peak National Park surrounding
our base in the Hope Valley ! What's more they are very reasonably
priced and won't break the bank ! A full day trail quest competition
for 12 or more people in the quiet season starts at around £69 per
person + vat with a modest amount on top to pay for your lunch at
a local inn. In the high season prices rise to c. £100 to £120 + vat each.
Why not combine a session working as a team on a trail quest with, say,
a session caving or abseiling or rock climbing - or maybe orienteering ?
We have a whole range of activities on offer for all sorts of groups of
friends, corporate groups and sports clubs.
Enjoying easy, leisurely mountain bike rides and cycle based treasure hunts
around local pine-fringed reservoirs along very gentle more-or-less "traffic-free"
trails and bridleways is just one of the many popular activities we can offer groups
visiting the Peak District National Park. Easy or tougher cycling routes around the
Hope Valley are available for guests staying with us in Hathersage. Cycle just for
fun or as part of a team problem-solving task and decision-making staff training
exercises involving maps and clues and walkie-talkies, etc.
TRAILQUESTS ARE VERY POPULAR WITH STAG GROUPS VISITING OUR BASE.
OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR STAG PARTIES & HEN GROUPS.

Frank - one of our friendly associates - getting ready to deliver a trailer
full of bikes to a group about to use our bikes for a cycle treasure hunt
after a fun morning of orienteering with some of our other tutors.
Many treasure hunts on bikes and bike rides start and finish at our
base Rock Lea, but having our own fleet on minibuses which can trail
bikes and offer roadside assistance means that we can also collect
your bikes from destinations elsewhere.
Peak Activities are one of the longest established mountain bike
fleet owners in the Peak District - we 've been running events using
our mountain bikes and hybrid cycles for over 24 years now.
You can enjoy cycling with Peak Activities on one of our public

or you can come here with a private exclusive party.
We're open all year...and in the colder months this is a very
popular group activity for Corporate Hospitality Organisers.

at the prospect of going cycling again.

All the staff and their families at Rock Lea
are keen mountain bikers. Here is Caroline
our centre manager with two of her younger
cycling pals by the nearby Derwent Dam.

WELL, DID YOU SPOT THE DELIBERATE MISTAKE THEN ?
At the top of this page is a 19-year old photograph taken when mountain bikes were
just coming into vogue in the Hope Valley... and when our centre's director Iain
was a lot slimmer than he is now ! For many years now, a cycle safety helmet
has been deemed to be a very sensible & essential thing to wear even on safe
easy tracks like this one around the Derwent Dam near our base Rock Lea.
X-Ray Courtesy of James Jennings after he was hot on the head by a golf ball !
In the unlikely event of you falling off your bikes it is
possible you'll use the item illustrated above to break
your fall ! To protect even the thickest of skulls, all cyclists
are requested to wear a safety helmet when out on our
centre's bikes. The only exception is for Sikhs who are
wearing their turbans.
