One of our centre's most popular & successful
team building activities during training courses,
sports weekends & corporate events is orienteering
and improving mapwork skills. Orienteering gets
everyone fully involved and active - you can set
your own fast or slow pace and the scenery is
breathtaking. It's often a mixed ability team event,
so if you can't read a compass at the start you'll
manage just a well as the guys who think they
are experts ! Perfect for mixed parties and
corporate "team away days"!

ORIENTERING FOR CORPORATE GROUPS IN THE PEAK DISTRICT

 

ORIENTEERING IN AUSTRIA'S TYROL REGION on foot, on skis, on snow shoes.

 

 

At the simplest level when we are running an
orienteering session for a corporate customer's
group we will brief & equip people in their
teams over a few cups of tea, drive for about
5 minutes up on to the adjacent high tops
Then we send off parties of two, three or four
people from a lonely "middle of nowhere"
check-point over 1,000 feet up a wild
moorland plateau.

 

The aim is to get around our upland moorland
orienteering course at a walking pace...and to
have fun collecting as many control points as
possible in the time assigned ! The event crosses
some superb scenery and can be arranged as a
competition or as an exercise in inter-team
co-operation and strategic planning. We also
have the technology to turn such simple

exercises into quite sophisticated & challenging
team-building exercises.

 

Lots of people love using and learning to develop
their skills with a map anda compass. Our staff
are always pleased to run hillcraft and wayfinding
classes.

Orienteering and Wayfinding is a really a good
half-day activity come rain or shine...and if the
fog is down it's even more challenging !

 

We can finish at a local inn - or back where we
started where cups of orange juice and more teas
and coffees can be provided to refresh the group
ready for their next activity or prior to departure.

TOUGHER ORIENTEERING CHALLENGES....

 

Night orienteering and training in the use of GPS satellite navigation

systems and more remote locations and winter conditions are options

for groups which already have some good map & compass & navigation skills.

Prices start from as low as £69 to £129 per person + vat per day.

 

 

We can offer you a wide choice

of standard and bespoke treasure hunts

- some using aerial photographs,

some with sound clues, imagery

and cryptic clues, and others with

plain old fashioned clues. These treasure

hunts can be completed on foot and/or using

bikes/minibuses etc. Some of these

can be run as business games - with

budgets and big profits to be made for

the teams and syndicates which plan

and manage their performance thoroughly !

Peak Activities "Trailquests" involve getting 
syndicates of 6 to 10 people from A to B to C etc. 
using map & compass on foot and on bikes, in 
minibuses, etc. but there are team challanges 
to overcome at various stages along the way

"River Deep Mountain High".
