This lovely open air heated swimming pool is just across the road from our base Rock Lea Activity Centre, so it's ideally siuated for a swim at the end of your day of activities with us.

 
Rock Lea's training course and sports weekends customers agree that in
the summer months one of the nicest features at the the end of a warm
day of outdoor activities or after a good day's training with our staff is to
be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the heated open air swimming pool
next to our base in Hathersage (shown above). The water here is heated
usally to c. 84 degrees fahrenheit - which is surprisingly warm by UK
standards.

After a great day of training activities at Rock Lea - or after
your sessions enjoying outdoor sports activities with us - such
as climbing, abseiling, mountain- biking, caving orienteering, or
walking in the surrounding hills with Rock Lea's tutors there's a
lot to be said for a shower and a dip in the warm, heated outdoor
swimming pool illustrated above. It's only 150 metres from our
Hathersage base Rock Lea.

The excellent "Kaiserbad" indoor and outdoor swimming pools lie just below the towering mountains of the Wilderkaisergebirge in Austria's Tyrol region....one of the more exotic places that Peak Activities Ltd runs outdoor activities. When we are running events over in the Tyrol we are always keen to continue our 
tradition of going for a swim after a good day of climbing or walking and there are 
lots of wonderful public swimming pools and private swimming pools which we 
can use in some of the hotels we use over there.  Above is a picture of the very well 
managed and very popular Kaiserbad indoor and outdoor pool lying under the 
magnificent Wilderkaisergebirge where you'll often find some of our staff in both 
summer and winter !   A great stress-busting activity at any time of the year !
 
 
 
SWIMMING IN HATHERSAGE
 
 
 
 
In the warmer months, Peak Activities Ltd's customers & staff often
enjoy relaxing & socialising at the end of their day in the superb heated
open air swimming pool right next door to our little base - Rock Lea.
A trip over to the pool in the centre of our village is a good way for our
clients to relax, socialise and wrap up a really exciting day out with our
tutors and instructors before they head off for home or back to their
local accommodation.

Members of the general public :  Please do not call our busy Rock Lea 
office staff regarding general swimming pool enquiries or opening times.
  
In the past swimming pool management and staff have very kindly 
joined forces with Peak Activities Ltd's trainers from time to time 
to run some very unusual first aid  training sessions at the pool.  
See our first aid page for more details.   Other activities running 
at the pool include underwater sub-aqua lessons.


In the winter months (October to March )  all the the outdoor 
swimming pools in Hathersage we use are closed ( the leaves 
get in the water ! ) and so we tend to use the indoor swimming 
pools in nearby Bakewell and the leisure pools in Hillsborough 
and the Pond's Forge Swimming Pools Complexes in nearby 
Sheffield ( 9 miles away )...or the pools in the various luxury 
hotels we use ( see below ).
  
All the telephone numbers for the many local swimming pools 
can be obtained from the local tourist information centres and 
are listed at the foot of  our links page.  Members of the general
public should note we are not a tourist information centre so they
should not please call our bookings staff asking for swimming 
pool information - we won't be able to help you - and will ask you 
to contact the TIC's listed on this website.
