Windsurfing & Board Sailing with qualified tuition is one of 
the many water sports activities Peak Activities sometimes
offers groups visiting our centre. It is often included as part 
of our residential activity packages over 2, 3, 4 or more days.
It is also a popular activity during our activity weekends & 
holidays for our individual customers which we run from time 
to time here in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire.



Exclusive sessions of private windsurfing instruction can be 
arranged for our corporate clients and private groups who are 
staying for two or more days of mixed outdoor activities in the 
lovely Peak District National Park with Peak Activities Ltd.

Windsurfing ( or Board-sailing ) is great fun for all ages and is a
very popular element within our successful corporate hospitality
"Watersports Days" which are usually booked as part of longer

residential programmes for large groups who are visiting us for

several days at a time.

 

We use an RYA Approved and AALA Registered supplier for this

sub-contracted activity. Windsurfing is one of just a wide range

of outdoor pursuits and activities available at our popular outdoor

activity centre in the Peak National Park. Other water based
activities on offer are canoeing, sailing and raft building & racing.

Making and racing improvised rafts and canoe games can be used as part of team building events.

 

We regret that windsurfing is not an activity we can always offer to day visitors
unless they are also booking other activities such as caving and abseiling.
Moreover, it is definitely not an activity we suggest for the winter ! brrrrrr ! lol !

Peak Activities' watersports such as canoeing and
sailing and board sailing have been featured by BBC 
sports presenter Damion Johnson on his BBC2 Travel
TV  Programme "Breakout" and on Radio Four's 
"Breakway" holiday and lifestyle programme with 
Radio 2 & Radio 4 presenter Alex Lester.

 

 

High speed safety boats are in the water providing

lifeguard cover with qualified staff all the time people

are on the water. Wet suits are provided free of charge

when required. Smaller junior boards & advanced

boards are available when needed. Life jackets and

buoyancy aids are compulsory items of ppe.

We regret we only book windsurfing for groups who book well in advance and
we're sorry but we cannot often offer board sailing or watersports for groups or
for individuals who are just attending for a single day of activities. If you are
organising an event for a private party such as a weekend stag event, it's worth

Group organisers wanting a top quality corporate

day for MIXED AGE, MIXED ABILITY parties and wanting

to including a variety of different watersports often ask

Peak Activities Sports Division to arrange fantastic

multi-activity days for them. We also run weekends and

longer mid week breaks. Tailored programmes are a

speciality !

 

 

 

For groups of under 20 persons it's usually possible to

book everything quickly and easily over the telephone,

firmed up with an exchange of a couple of faxes or e-mails
and a booking form.

 

 

For a quality off the shelf watersports day for a party of about 
16 to 20 people we'll include a light lunch, insurance, all activities, 
RYA qualified tuition, equipment hire, safety boat cover, transfers, 
competition prizes, etc.   In case there's no wind or too much wind 
we also arrange suitable back-up activities too. In a single day your 
group can each enjoy learning to sailing, windsurf, canoe and can also
have fun building and racing improvised rafts, and we can weave into 
your day lots more including a treasure hunt on foot, or on water using 
canoes and rowing boats and rafts....with problem solving sessions 
thrown in for ample measaure !

The RYA-Approved Sailing & Windsurfing Centre where we base our

watersports events is located a short minibus drive from Rock Lea.

It's an ideal place to learn to board sail...as well as enjoying canoeing,

sailing and other watersports and team building activities such as treasure

hunts afloat or on foot. The lake is over a mile long & half a mile wide.

It's open all year but you need to be fairly mad to enjoy the water in winter.

Beginners learning to windsurf are given close personal tuition on a dry land

simulator from a qualified tutors before heading onto the water and fast

rescue launches patrol the water maintaining safety cover and allowing

your tutors to keep an eye on you.

 

 

NEW FOR 2012 :

 

We can also offer watersports in the Lake District National Park which can be
combined with other mountain based activities such as walking, scrambling &
rock climbing, abseiling & camping.

 

TAILORING A BESPOKE EVENT JUST FOR YOU...

 

 

For organisations which have suitable budgets we also offer a
very reliable, quality events management service where you can
meet up with one of our senior management and look at tailoring
specialdays to meet your specific requirements. However, because
of the time required to arrange inspection visits and put together

special one-off events proposals we do charge for meeting to
set up bespoke services. The cost of preparatory meetings is
deducted from any subsequent bookings.
